Taking over my life

I have been a busy bee lately. For a woman who normally has a bit of time on her hands (the way I like it), the last few weeks have been busy, busy, busy. I have been called into work on extra days. I have just had a weekend away, hot on the heels of a holiday with the kids, and it's possible the kids and I will be camping with friends this weekend.

I am not complaining at all. I LOVE my job and getting asked to do an extra day here or there is a joy and I always say yes. And I feel incredibly fortunate that I've been able to do all these little trips away lately. They have been wonderful.

The point I'm trying to get to - in a round-about way! - is that even with life being so full, letters are still getting written. I may not be up-to-date with my study and my blogging has been less frequent, but letters have become such an entrenched part of my life that even in my busiest times I'm still getting letters out. It might happen in stages - I might decorate some paper one evening, then write the letter the next morning, before I get out of bed. I was decorating an envelope at my desk at lunch-time yesterday which attracted some curious looks! I haven't been able to have my long, leisurely coffees in town with my letter-writing things spread around me, but it hasn't mattered. They get written after dinner, in the mornings, during lunch breaks, in all the corners of my day.

My post title is a small exaggeration; they are not taking over my life but they have become as integral to my day as having a shower or cooking dinner. It's because a day without writing a letter just feels like it's missing something.

I have a letter to finish now...

Love from Kaz

  4. The road trip didn't really slow me down. After I got home I wrote five letters!

Very curious about what happened to that postcard though... it was a black and white one of a sheep in a paddock... I thought that after you scared those sheep away you'd appreciate it.
Are you SURE it wasn't there??
